ABOUT US
Welcome to Indian Trail Art Studio! IT’s ART is located in the quiet business area of Indian Trail.
The idea of opening art studio is a result of many years of teaching art in two different countries and two states, and a desire to help people to experience the beauty of visual art.
Our Mission is:
- To teach the basic art elements through academic drawing and painting, and to help students grow and develop their skills, so after a while, they will be able to draw, sketch and paint many things in surrounding world.
- To experiment with different art media and to think “outside the box” in many creative ways, to be able to experience new tools and materials.
It’s never too early or too late to become an artist!
About Instructor
Mila Antonyuk is a local artist and art instructor. She was born in a historic town in a southwestern region of Ukraine. Her childhood was spent surrounded by thousand year old architecture and scenic landscapes. At the age of six, Mila was accepted into an art school where she studied alongside students that were at least twice her age. Since then, drawing and painting became her life’s passion. She earned her Master’s Degree in Art in Europe and since 1980, Mila worked as an artist and art instructor in Ukraine and Estonia. While there, she participated in regional and countrywide art exhibits as a painter.
In 1998, along with her family, she moved to Seattle, WA where she worked as an art teacher (K-12) at a private school. Since 2002, she resides in Matthews, NC and has worked as an art instructor in Charlotte and Indian Trail schools, as well as at her own art studio. Mila is a member of Carolina Clay Matters Pottery Guild and Mint Hill Arts.
“Visual art and pottery give me the opportunity to realize my own experiences through painting, printing, and sculpting by creating two and three-dimensional art pieces, that are not just aesthetically appealing but functional as well”
